The web pages that are returned on the left side are the free side of Google’s search result page. Google will list a web page if they think that it’s relevant to the keyword that the user searched for.

So how do you make Google fall in love with your web pages? You can make your web pages more relevant by applying Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Now don’t get scared by that term because it’s quite simple and straightforward to learn and to implement.

One of the most effective free methods to make money online is article marketing. Basically all you have to do here is write and submit your articles to directories so they would come up in free search engine listings provided that you do proper keyword research. If you write a decent article and provide the reader some value then they might want to learn more and click your link that will lead them directly to the product that you’re promoting.

Google is the number one search engine because they provide searchers with quality search results. And they want it to stay that way and be on top of the competition above Yahoo and Bing. Google has a patented formula or algorithm on how they judge certain pages and your job here is to optimize so you can help them understand what your web page is all about.

Now the right side of a Google’s search results page is the paid advertising section (sponsored listings). This paid advertising method is what we call Pay Per Click (PPC) because an advertiser gets charged every time a searcher clicks on their advertisement.

The cost per click can range from 5 cents all the way up to $10 or more. The cost of each click will depend on the competition of a certain keyword. Beginners are advised to stay away from this type of method because you can really lose a lot of money if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Internet marketing is basically the marketing of products and services over the Internet. There are many forms of Internet marketing aside from promoting products online for a commission which is the basic model of affiliate marketing. Let’s just say that if you make money online then that is Internet marketing.

Your phone is going to start ringing and you direct those hungry customers to me. You make a note of telling me that these calls are coming from you. Let’s say you paid $600 for the ad and now you have a simple work from home business model! Now you know that you only have to sell 2 drum sets to recover the ad’s cost… and everything after that is pure profit.

Maybe after a week or two I would give you a big fat commission of $6,000 because of the many customers that you drove right through my business.

It’s a win-win situation for both of us and that is what we call Affiliate Marketing.

First let me tell you a short story of mine… I finished Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) at a late age of 27 (that was in May 2007). There are many ways to achieve financial freedom but starting your own business is one, if not, the most effective ways to achieve this. But we’re not talking about businesses that require you to spend thousands or millions of pesos in start up costs. Instead we’re going to talk about starting your own Internet marketing business.

That’s right… you can really make money on the Internet. There are many ways to make money online but we’re going to focus on affiliate marketing.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is basically the selling of products by other people in exchange for a commission. This is a real and legitimate business opportunity and like I’ve mentioned above you don’t need to spend a single cent. If you can turn on a computer, surf the web and read e-mails then you’re all good to go. You also don’t need a technical degree in order to get started but you’ve got some serious learning to do.

A Little Reminder

I don’t care if I sound like a broken record but you need to understand one thing with affiliate marketing. This is a BUSINESS! Making a decent income on the Internet is not a get rich quick scheme. I bet you’ve seen a lot of those websites where they tell you that they have a secret that teaches you how to earn thousands of dollars in a few weeks. Please don’t fall for that!

We Filipinos tend to be lazy and think that there’s really an easy shortcut to be successful on the Internet. The thing is that you really have to put in a tremendous amount of effort and fail a lot of times before you achieve the results that you desire. This is hard work but it’s all going to be worth it in the end.

I’ll probably scare some of those who really don’t have what it takes but it’s better that way. I don’t want to give you false promises. So I suggest that you look into affiliate marketing if you’re looking for jobs available for newly graduated students in the Philippines.

I’m not really that interested with multi level marketing (MLM) but I’m sure that there are also people who are having success with it. I’m really not that familiar with the inner workings of MLM but I think I know how the basic process works. I’ve read that it’s the modern version of the pyramid scheme.

If you want to do some marketing on the Internet you should keep on working at it until you see the desired results. Many people just give up too easily and are left wondering why they didn’t achieve the success that they desire.

I decided to look for business opportunities on the Internet because I knew that many people are making a some serious amounts of money online. I took a closer look and came across affiliate marketing. One thing why I love affiliate marketing is that you don’t need to spend a huge amount of money in order to get started. You don’t even have to shell out a single cent if you want. You don’t even need to own any website but the amount of money that you can make is bottomless.

I always ask myself why I didn’t know about affiliate marketing 5 years ago and now I understand why. One important thing that you should focus on is how to get traffic to the product that you’re promoting. You wouldn’t just target any kind of traffic because there are visitors who are just browsing around and have really no intentions of buying.

Everyone is different and it’s really up to you whether you choose affiliate marketing over multi level marketing. Affiliate marketing feels right for me because:

• I don’t need to do any hard selling like MLM does.
• I can build a profitable online business with zero to little start up cost.
• I am my own boss and I can work on my own hours
• I can generate a passive income stream and most of all…
• I can help out people with their problems and desires

Whatever route that you take, sending traffic to your website is going to play a vital role in your business.
